Comic Workshop Series with Erin Shuttleworth (12+)

Join comic artist and illustrator Erin Shuttleworth in this 4-week series that explores all aspects of comic illustration, writing and DIY publishing. Each session has a specific skill to build on, culminating with a completed mini comic or DIY zine. If you are interested in a specific week's theme, reach out to info@visacgallery.com about potentially joining for just one session, however if the classes fill up, we may not be able to accommodate. Session 1: February 22, 2024 Introduction to Comics with examples and collaborative activities like comic jams and character design warm ups. Session 2: February 29, 2024 Storytelling and the art of mini comics. Participants will learn about the components of a comic and begin to craft their own mini comic. Session 3: March 7, 2024 Character design, action, body language and the nitty gritty of making comics. Session 4: March 14, 2024 Inking, Colouring and Finishing. How to actually get your work finished and out in the world! All materials will be provided. Please fill out 1 form per person Age: 12+ Adults welcome!
