Coming from two countries at odds with each other, Iranian-American Leila strives to find balance. As she embraces her opposing cultures, she boldly challenges the labels society is quick to project upon her. When her large family gathers in New York for her father’s heart transplant, Leila tries to keep her “real” life separate from her family life. But a family secret is uncovered that catapults the estranged mother and daughter into an exploration of the past, to discover they are more alike than they know.
