Fruit Gleaning

REMINDER ... *Fruit Gleaning* this weekend.!! Come join community members in the annual Fruit Tree Gleaning. DETAILS: - Meet at the parking lot / entrance of Sept-Sommets school (on Monte Christo) at 10am on Sunday September 25th. - Bring baskets, boxes and a ladder if you want. - Access Rossland's new fruit tree app (web-browser based) here: bit.ly/rosslandfruit - we will use this to guide our fruit picking. - Click on the ? at the top right of the app page to get a "tutorial". - We will also walk through it when we meet. - We will assign groups of people to specific areas of town. - The app identifies types of fruit trees and whether they are on public or private property. (However, it is a work in progress and we need your help during the gleaning to create more accurate information.) - If you can't access it via your smartphone, we will have some paper maps. - Fruit can be pressed on Oct 1st and 2nd- Sign up for a time here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/161IiXRt63S0dbTCv8WrPH6gupkaGaBEW... or donate your pickings. - Moon Gravity Farm will also take fruit to compost that is too wormy or otherwise not good for eating or pressing.
