Job Opportunity – RFSC Head Coach / Assistant Coach
The Rossland Figure Skating Club (RFSC) is accepting applications for a Head Coach or Assistant
Coach for the 2022-2023 season. Our season runs from October to the end of February and has the
potential to offer coaching for up to 9-12 hours per week, depending on need. We offer
PreCanSkate, CanSkate, and STARSkate. This opportunity includes on-ice groups, including
semi-private and private lessons. There is also potential to offer off-ice training. The club has
skaters attending two to three competitions each season, and formal assessments throughout the
season, and has an annual ice show.
Qualifications:
▪ Must be in good standing with Skate Canada.
▪ Valid First Aid certificate and up to date criminal record check.
▪ Have a minimum Reginal Coach-in-Training Certification.
▪ Ability to teach all levels and disciplines up to and including gold level an asset.
We are seeking an organized and enthusiastic, highly motivated professional with a passion for
skating who demonstrates strong communication and interpersonal skills with children, parents,
fellow coaches, and club executives. The successful candidate must be a team player and be prepared
to work with the coaching team and be involved in all aspects of club activities.
Rossland Figure Skating Club will consider sponsoring a coach who will complete upcoming regional
coach training and sign a contract with our club. The club will also cover all Skate Canada
coaching fees upon completion of contract.
